CRT awards the T Distinction to a Vallarta restaurant for joining the protection and dissemination of Tequila.

Over 300 T Distinctions have been awarded nationwide and 81 internationally.

To obtain this certification mark, one of the requirements is that the human capital of the consumption center be trained with the Professionalization Course in Tequila Culture taught by the CRT.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco on July 19, 2024.- With the certification mark, T Distinction, the Tequila Regulatory Council A.C. (CRT), recognizes all those consumption centers that demonstrate the quality of their Tequila services through a certification and training process. By earning the T Distinction, these establishments contribute to safeguarding the Tequila Appellation of Origin (AOT) and ensuring that consumers receive authentic and certified Mexican Tequila.

“In this journey, the participation of restaurants, bars, and consumer centers has been fundamental, and that is where many times our consumers have their first impression of the products, they are careful to verify the information on the labels, to verify that the information contained therein is actually verified by the Tequila Regulatory Council, in this way they give their diners the guarantee of what a Tequila is,” said Francisco Javier González García, First Vice President of the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT), who presented the T Distinction to Café des Artistes restaurant on behalf of President Miguel Ángel Domínguez Morales.

The T Distinction awarded to this centrally located Puerto Vallarta establishment brings the national total to 309, with an additional 81 distinctions granted internationally. Café des Artistes’ chef-owner, Thierry Blouet, expressed his pride in receiving the distinction, highlighting the training undertaken by management, bartenders, sommeliers, and waitstaff. ‘This is a true honor for the entire Café des Artistes family,’ Blouet said. ‘We are in Jalisco, and Tequila is undoubtedly our favorite drink.

Who also highlighted the training of human capital for the dissemination of the Tequila culture was the interim Mayor of Puerto Vallarta, Francisco José Martínez Gil “They are the anonymous heroes, the bastions that day by day give their lives and their feelings to the creation of the most Mexican of drinks, guaranteeing the consumer a service of excellence and trust”…“Talking about Mexico is talking about our people, our roots, our music, our gastronomy, our art, our Tequila”… specified the Mayor.

Some of the requirements that establishments must meet to obtain the T Distinction are having internal control of the Tequila acquired, that the marketing of Tequila complies with the applicable regulations, having correct storage, verifying its purchase from formal suppliers, and the professionalization of the employees of the consumption center through the Tequila Culture course taught by the Tequila Regulatory Council.

Consumption centers with the T Distinction display a plaque in a visible area featuring the logos of the T Distinction, the CRT, and the establishment itself.
